Dan has published over 250 articles in various funeral and cemetery trade publications and is a monthly columnist for the National Funeral Directors Association magazine, "The Director". He has also had countless articles published in The American Funeral Director, The American Cemetery, Southern Funeral Director, Alliance Magazine and the ICCFA Magazine. Dan is also frequently quoted in the Funeral Service Insider.
Dan is the author of four books and a contributor to a mortuary science text book. His four books include:
- The Dealmaker's Guide to Funeral Home Transactions – educating business owners with issues dealing with buying and selling their business
- How to Stay Independent and Very Profitable – educates the owner of funeral homes and cemeteries on how to better operate their business and increase their profits
- What Every Funeral Director and Cemeterian Should Know About Cremation – deals with the business of cremation and issues of opera
- The Complete Preneed Perspective – deals with all matters of the very important preneed component of funeral home and cemetery operations.
Dan is one of the most sought after speakers in the industry. He has given more than 600 presentations, speeches and workshops. Dan has provided seminars and CEU classes which have provided more than 1600 hours of learning to funeral professionals at national conventions, state association meetings and various study groups.
For several years, Dan was an educator for The American College located in Bryn Mawr, PA. The American College is the oldest non-profit accredited institution dedicated to education in the financial services. Dan has taught classes at their campuses at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and The University of Houston in Houston, TX on the subjects of Life Insurance Law and Premium Calculations as well as Business Tax Planning and Estate Planning.
Mr. Isard through his companies has been retained on more than 90 cases throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. He has been admitted as an expert witness and testified before the state and federal courts.
Dan has also been interviewed as an expert on topics related to the funeral and cemetery industry by various public national and local media including 60 Minutes television show, National Public Radio Broadcasting, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Forbes, Fortune, The Business Journal and USA Today. |
